Our Story
The story of Mom the Builder dates back to 1971. Seven-year-old Roxanne Vaughn completed her first construction project: a cardboard replication of the Louisville Galt House, made complete with a movable elevator.
As Roxanne grew up and started her family, so did her ability to construct and design. Starting out as a real estate agent, she was able to gain a keen understanding of what homeowners are looking for and brought it to life. After investing in rental properties, Roxanne harnessed her craft. In 2000, Roxanne built her first home. While raising two babies with a third on the way, Roxanne built her own family home. This catapulted her into the construction industry.
Over the course of two decades, Roxanne has solidified herself as one of the few female builders in the state with hundreds of homes under her belt. All the while, four babies were in tow. She became known as Mom the Builder.
